Bridging Self-Discovery and the Spirit of Adventure

Joanna is a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Master Practitioner and the founder of Joanna Abbott Consulting, a professional development business that helps individuals and teams grow through greater self-awareness, communication, and collaboration. With over 18 years of experience and a Master’s in Public Administration from Arizona State University, Joanna combines evidence-based insight with practical application in every workshop and coaching session.

In addition to her work in team development, Joanna is a passionate field researcher and advocate for the scientific investigation of Sasquatch as a yet-to-be-recognized species. Based in the Pacific Northwest, she spends her free time exploring remote forests, collecting observational data, and engaging with a growing community of researchers committed to understanding this elusive primate.

Joanna sees a clear connection between her two passions: both require curiosity, respect for complexity, and a willingness to challenge assumptions. Whether she’s guiding a team toward better collaboration or analyzing potential field evidence, she brings thoughtful inquiry and a grounded, open-minded approach.

Through her work, Joanna helps people better understand themselves and the world around them—inviting others to embrace growth, connection, and the possibility that science still has discoveries waiting just off the beaten path.

Joanna’s Team

  • Director of Sniffing Operations
    Senior Stick Acquisition Specialist

Garrick takes his responsibilities seriously—nose to the ground and tail in the air. Whether he's conducting thorough scent analysis along forest trails or selecting only the finest sticks for retrieval and display, Garrick approaches every task with unwavering enthusiasm and a strong work ethic (especially if treats are involved). His keen attention to woodland detail ensures no interesting smell goes uninvestigated, and no stick—no matter how soggy—goes unappreciated. He's a vital part of the field team, keeping spirits high and reminding everyone to pause, sniff the ferns, and enjoy the journey.

  • Director of Cozy Research Oversight
    Distinguished Fellow in Blanket-Based Studies

Dobby’s primary duties include heavy napping, strategic snoring, and treat surveillance. While the field team braves the elements, Dobby holds down headquarters—literally—by anchoring the nearest pile of blankets with unwavering dedication. His thunderous snoring provides a steady soundtrack, and ensures that Joanna’s noise-cancelling headphones get lots of use while reviewing audio evidence. Dobby brings balance to the operation, reminding the team that every great discovery starts with a good nap and ends with a well-earned snack. Dobby may not analyze field data, but his dedication to comfort, snacks, and emotional support keeps the entire operation running smoothly—plus, no questionable claim makes it past his signature skeptical side-eye.
